Comments:
The Crosman C31 is
modeled after the Beretta 90two. The only significant departure
from the 90two design is the placement of the mag release on the
C31. The C31 appears to be made for Crosman by Wingun in Taiwan.
It uses the same 18-shot magazine as the Umarex Beretta Elite
II, the Firepower M84, and the Tanfoglio 1911 Witness, all of
which are also made by Wingun. The body of the C31 is made
entirely of plastic. The controls, except for the mag release,
are all cosmetic. The gun uses a moving barrel design and has a
smooth-bore barrel. The safety is the typical Wingun sliding
switch located on the right side above the trigger. The trigger
action is DAO and has a long smooth pull with an indistinct
breaking point. The gun has excellent shot-to-shot velocity
consistency and decent accuracy for a smooth-bore BB gun.
Performance:
Measurements were made on
8/05/08 at a temperature of 74 ºF and 14' elevation. A ten shot string was fired
from a bench rest at 15' using Daisy Avanti BBs (5.5 gr).
The highest velocity measured was 463 fps, the lowest was 455 fps
(average of the 10-shot string was 460 fps, s = 2). A six shot string
fired off-hand with open sights grouped at 0.82". Click the thumbnails below to see larger images.
